Paradox Interactive has reported on the best financial performance in its history. The Swedish publisher published a report for October — December 2018 and for the whole year.
Quarterly figures
- In the last three months of the year, the company’s revenue grew to $36 million. In annual terms, the indicator increased by 51%.
- Paradox’s operating profit for the quarter reached $15.7 million. This is 69% more than a year earlier.
- This quarter turned out to be the best for the publisher, although he had no new releases. The main income was generated by: Cities: Skylines, Stellaris, Crusader Kings II, Europa Universalis IV and Hearts of Iron IV. The winter sale on Steam, which took place from December 20 to January 3, also helped to earn.
Annual figures
- For the year, the company’s revenue amounted to $120.9 million. This is 39% more than in 2017.
- Annual operating profit increased to $48.7 million, which is 34% more than in 2017.
- In 2018, Paradox had two new releases: Surviving Mars and BATTLETECH. Plus, she has released 16 additions to various titles.
- The studio also made its mark on the mergers and acquisitions market by buying the indie studio Harebrained Schemes (authors of BATTLETECH) and a minority stake in Hardsuit Labs. The latter, by the way, is working on an as yet unannounced game.
