The revenue of the mobile segment of the German company InnoGames increased by 62% last year. The developers of the Forge of Empires strategy earned €54.5 million on mobile, according to the company’s 2017 results report.

The total revenues of InnoGames in 2017 amounted to €161.5 million. In comparison with 2016, the company’s revenue increased by 24%.

€107 million (66%) of this amount fell on the company’s browser games, the rest was generated by mobile.

InnoGames notes that mobile versions have become growth drivers for the company’s flagship titles. Thanks to the mobile, Forge of Empires and Elvenar earned 36% more than last year.

Audience activity

According to InnoGames CEO Hendrik Klindwort, in 2017 the average game session time in studio titles increased by 13%, and DAU increased by 15%.

Transition to MTG control

Another event of 2017 for InnoGames was the purchase of its controlling stake by the Swedish media company Modern Times Group (MTG). MTG has owned 25% of the studio’s shares since 2016, and in May 2017 brought its stake to 51%. The acquisition of a controlling stake in total cost MTG €130 million.
