Russian studio Pixonic, known for mobile MMO War Robots, announced the sale of 100% of its shares Mail.Ru Group for $30 million.
“After the merger, Pixonic will maintain full independence of its brand and will continue to develop new projects as before. But now we will have new tools that allow us to develop these products faster,” the Pixonic blog says on behalf of the company’s CEO, Philip Gladkov.
It is noted that Gladkov will continue to hold the post of CEO, and Igor Klyukin – the post of COO in Pixonic.
“At the end of 2015, Pixonic’s revenue amounted to 456 million rubles, at the end of the first half of 2016 — 619 million rubles,” informs Mail.Ru Group.
“In September 2016, the number of installations of Pixonic’s flagship game – War Robots – exceeded 20 million. At the same time, the project gained the greatest popularity in the USA, Japan, China, Korea and Germany, Russia took the 6th place and collected 1.5 million installations. At the end of September, the number of War Robots players on iOS reached 7 million, on Android exceeded 13 million, and the daily number of users exceeded 500 thousand,” the Russian Internet giant adds.
Recall that revenues from Pixonic mobile games in the second quarter of this year were more than similar revenues Mail.Ru Group.
