Sales of the adventure action Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice studio Ninja Theory overcame 500 thousand copies in the first 3 months and began to bring profit to the authors of the game.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was released on PC and PlayStation 4 on August 8 this year. To date, the game has earned $13 million.

The pace of game sales was twice as high as expected. Ninja Theory expected to sell half a million copies six months after the release of Hellblade. But 250 thousand copies were sold out in the first week.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was developed by a team of 20 people for 3 years. According to Ninja Theory, they wanted to prove that an independent studio can create a commercially profitable and popular AAA title without huge costs for marketing and promotion of the game in retail.

Instead, they relied on digital sales, which subsequently accounted for half of all copies of the game sold.
