Fortnite received $1 billion in revenue from in-game purchases. Monthly revenue of the game is only increasing, the analytical company Superdata reported.

As you can see from the graph below, this has been happening since the fall of 2017, when the Battle royale mode was added to Fortnite. It is to him that the game owes its popularity.

In the three months of spring, the game’s revenue increased from $223 million to $318 million.
The graph also shows that the main jump in profits occurred in February 2018 – the month when the third season began in the game.

The beginning of each new season is accompanied by the release of a lot of new content and the sale of season tickets.

In its report, Superdata also noted that royal battles are now also the most popular genre of gaming video content. In May, users collectively spent almost 700 million hours watching relevant content. 83% of them are on Fortnite. In second place in terms of views is the MOBA genre – 275 million hours. That is, streams and videos about Fortnite are watched more than videos on all MOBA games combined.
