The revenues of the mobile fighting game Marvel Contest of Champions have grown almost fivefold, analysts from Sensor Tower reported. It’s all about the release of the movie “Ant-Man and the Wasp” and the corresponding new content in the game.
A week before the release of the Marvel Contest of Champions movie, Kabam announced a thematic update: two new fighters (both heroes of the film) and new in-game items and rewards that can be obtained during the monthly event.

Всплеск покупок в приложении произошёл 4 июля, в день премьеры фильма. Геймеры потратили на игру $3,1 млн в App Store and Google Play. Впервые с ноября 2017 года игра вышла на первое место по выручке в американском топе iPhone. Для сравнения: в предыдущие четыре недели в среднем в день игра зарабатывала $644 тыс.
Основная выручка пришлась, конечно же, на США – именно оттуда пришло 61% выручки за новый контент.
