The release of the movie “The First Avenger: Confrontation” affected the downloads of titles for the Marvel franchise. Downloads have grown, revenue has increased. The figures were shared by Marvel.
The results of the release of the film are as follows:
- The RPG Marvel Future Fight revenue increased by 300% compared to the last two weeks before the release of the film;
- The Marvel Contest of Champions fighting game downloads increased by 50% compared to the previous period. The game rose to the 7th place in the American top of the highest-grossing games on the iPhone;
- The life simulator Marvel Avengers Academy downloads increased by 200% compared to the last two weeks before the release of the film.
Similarly, the indicators increased for thematic sites, digital comics and applications.
“The First Avenger: Confrontation” has had a serious impact on our digital projects,” said Peter Phillips, Chief Executive of the Interactive and Digital Distribution Department. “Both revenue and downloads of our most popular games, apps and digital comics have grown significantly, which is very significant, since projects are already at the top of the charts.”
Phillips noted that such success is the result of the fact that all the characters who appeared in the film were presented in a timely manner in other projects.
“The characters that were supposed to appear in The First Avenger, we put in games long before the release of the film. And characters like Black Panther, which the general audience did not know before, we are starting to show only now,” he shared.
