Chinese mobile game publisher Youzu has opened a representative office in India and plans to invest $10 million in the local gaming industry.
The firm plans to hire 30 employees for a new office in the city of Pune, known for its IT centers.
Youzu plans to release several casual strategies and social casinos for the local market. Over time, the game assortment should be replenished with role-playing games and strategies of various levels of complexity.
The company is looking for opportunities for acquisitions and investments in the gaming and entertainment sectors of the Indian economy.
Youzu is one of China’s largest publishers, with a market capitalization of over $3.7 billion. Last year, it acquired Bigpoint, a German developer of online and mobile games.
