In 2016, the average check of Apple smartphone users in the United States increased by $5 and amounted to about $40.
The lion’s share of these purchases was taken by mobile games — about $ 27, whereas in 2015 this amount was $ 25. The rest was distributed between music, social networks, entertainment and visual content.
Along with the growing monetization of App Store apps, statistics indicate a decrease in the number of content downloads per active iPhone. For games, this indicator has also decreased — from 10.5 to 9.9 downloads.
Mobile games remain Apple’s main way of generating app store revenue: sales accounted for 80% of App Store revenue in 2016.
