In the first quarter of 2017, users worldwide spent $15 billion on the App Store and Google Play. This is 45% more than a year earlier.

This was announced yesterday, April 26, in its blog by the analytical company App Annie.

Editor’s note: Last year, 81% of the money earned by mobile stores fell on games. Knowing this, we can assume that the earnings of mobile games for the first quarter of 2017 amounted to $ 12.5 billion.

App Annie in her post about the results of the first quarter of this year also noted:

  • the number of downloads from Google Play is 135% more than downloads from iOS;

    the number of downloads made from Google Play during the quarter is 20% more than a year earlier;

  • users left 40% more money on Google Play than a year earlier.
  • the number of downloads from the App Store increased by 5 over the year%;
  • User spending in the App Store is 100% more than in Google Play;

    users left 45% more in the App Store than a year earlier.
