Not only hyper-casual can achieve a low CPI. Marketing company Soomla told about five mobile games in which the cost per installation is less than $ 0.5.
Terms
An Israeli analytical startup published an article with such a selection on its blog last week. In order to separate the wheat from the chaff, and hyper—casual games from others, Soomla has designated criteria that make the title hyper-casual.
- Publisher. The games of popular hyper-casual publishers are more likely to belong to the same category, analysts are sure;
- Quality. According to Soomla, in hyper-casual there are less developed worlds with a high level of graphics;
- Retention. Analysts called Subway Surfers and Candy Crush the gold standard, which involve users for a long time;
- Game mechanics. Some mechanics are more common in hypercausal titles, the marketing company believes. She does not specify which ones.
Important: when selecting top games, Soomla took into account the cost of only American installations.
Top 5 Games with low CPI
1) Stories: Love and Choices
In May of this year, the publisher Boke released an interactive novel, whose CPI was $0.42 with an IPM (installations per thousand impressions) of 55.91. The principle of the game is similar to most projects of this genre — it is an immersion in a detective, romantic or adventure story, where the development of the plot depends on the decisions of the gamer.
2) Groovepad
As the analysts themselves note, this application cannot be called a full-fledged game. Groovepad is a tool for DJs, which is nevertheless made in a game format.
Its publisher, Easybrain, specializes in Sudoku and solitaire games.
Title’s CPI is $0.47. IPM is 15.91.
3) Baby & Mom — Pregnancy Idle 3D Simulator
At the end of 2019, Gismart, known for both hyper—casual games and music applications, published the Baby & Mom idler, a pregnancy and motherhood simulator. According to Soomla, idlers often have well-developed details and high retention.
The CPI of the Android version of the game is $0.5. IPM is 34.2.
4) Dinosaur Rampage
Dinosaur Rampage, released about a year ago, can be attributed to classic hyper-casual projects. It is not completely clear why Soomla has included this project in the top five. In its blog, the company writes that the game has a very high quality — higher than many hypercalls — but neither the depth, nor the special mechanics, nor the out-of-genre publisher Dinosaur Rampage stands out.
The CPI of the game is $0.47. IPM is 19.41.
5) Idle Painter
A mix of clicker and coloring pages published by Say Games. Unlike the standard coloring, there is no need to choose the color and the area of painting, just click on the screen. The variety and regular appearance of new artistic tools, analysts believe, adds depth to the application.
The CPI of the Android version of the game is $0.48. IPM — 15.84.

The Israeli startup collected data for the report through its own analytical service — AdIntel.
