The mobile market never tires of surprising. The time has come when game developers have started buying up marketing companies.
On the cover of the news is a fragment of the CM Browser icon, one of the products Cheetah Mobile
These are the thoughts suggested by the purchase of MobPartner for $ 58 million by a Chinese company
The latter, however, is known not as a developer and publisher of games, but as the author of the Clean Master series of products, applications for cleaning and optimizing Android devices. Cheetah Mobile’s gaming division – Clean Master Games – has not released hits yet, it specializes in creating clones of popular games.
Since May 2014, Cheetah Mobile has been present on the stock market. Its estimated value is about $ 2.6 billion, and the share price is currently higher than, for example, Tencent.
MobPartner, in turn, is a French marketing company. The official website says that it is 100% ROI focused. They say, pay after the fact only for the result selected before the campaign. MobPartner’s reach is more than 500 advertisers and about 200 million monthly users.
Buying from the outside looks profitable for both sides.
It will give MobPartner the sums necessary for development, which the startup has not had so far (since its foundation in 2007, marketers have raised “only” $3.5 million).
As for Cheetah Mobile, for her it is direct access to the advertising capacities of one of the most famous marketing startups in France.
