The online survival simulator in the Conan the Barbarian universe Conan Exiles took less than a month to sell 480 thousand copies.

The creator of Conan Exiles, the Norwegian studio Funcom, expected to achieve this figure in a year, but the success of the game in Steam early access exceeded expectations and recouped the $4.5 million spent on development in less than a week.

By the beginning of 2018, the company intends to invest from $5 to $10 million in the project. The funds will be used for new game content and technical support, promotion and PR, and the release of Conan Exiles on Playstation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Funcom intends to leave the game in early access Steam by the end of this year.

In addition to Conan Exiles, Funcom supports a number of other online games: The Secret World, Age of Conan and Anarchy Online.
