Microsoft has confirmed that Windows Phone 7.8 as an update will be released only in early 2013.

Windows Phone 7.8 for users of devices based on Windows Phone 7.5 will be available for download only next year. And not for all released devices.

A strange decision for two reasons. Firstly, the delay of the release is unclear, because devices on Windows Phone 7.8 have already appeared on sale. Secondly, the company’s unwillingness to make it available to all existing smartphones on the market for Windows Phone 7.5.

On the other hand, for sure, they can be explained by technical difficulties and the company’s desire to focus on Windows Phone 8. In any case, it seems that despite Microsoft’s desire to follow Apple’s path, it is stepping on Android’s rake.

Among the innovations of the operating system, we note the change in the size of icons on the desktop, the “Image of the day” from the Bing search service and the “A1B2C3” blocking system, which protects the device from accidental shutdowns.
