The contribution of the gaming industry to the UK’s GDP last year amounted to more than £ 1.02 billion, thanks to the explosive growth of the mobile market, according to the network for developers and publishers TIGA.

In 2012, the final market value of the entire British video game industry was significantly less – £947 million.

The main driver of growth, according to TIGA, was mobile gaming: the explosive growth in sales of smartphones and tablets created a significant gaming market, which immediately required the opening of appropriate jobs.

There is no data on the total GDP of the UK for the whole of 2013 yet, but, to understand the orders, in 2012 it amounted to about £1.4 trillion.
