In the future, we are waiting for a reduction in the range of smartphones: most manufacturers want to follow the path of Apple.
Smartphone manufacturers such as HTC, RIM, Sony and Motorola may gradually reduce the number of annual releases. According to information obtained by Taiwanese sources of the Digitimes portal, these companies will focus their resources and marketing efforts on promoting a relatively small number of devices. In other words, they will abandon the policy of diversification.
This strategy is related to the success of the market policy promoted by Apple and Samsung: focusing on one or more models to achieve a larger market share.
For example, up to 30 million boxes with an iPhone inside are sold per quarter. As for Samsung, only in the first six months of sales the company was able to sell about 10 million Galaxy S II.
