Yesterday, the app store for Windows 8-based devices reached the mark of 20 thousand applications.

Of these 20 thousand applications uploaded to the Windows Store, about 87% (or 17.4 thousand applications) are free.

The total number of applications available to users varies by country, as some applications have regional restrictions. Thus, about 12.7 thousand paid and free applications are available to Americans, and about 11 thousand applications are available to Britons.

It is worth noting that only on November 5, the Windows Store had 12.9 thousand applications. That is, by simple arithmetic, it can be calculated that developers download from 400 to 450 applications per day in the store.

At this rate, by the New Year, the Windows Store will be able to contain about 30 thousand applications.
