By the official release of Windows 8, which will be available on both PCs and tablets, there will be about 3,000 programs in its app store.
According to Wes Miller, vice president of Microsoft development, now the Windows Store (not to be confused with the Windows Phone Store) is open in 120 markets and has 1,600 applications, of which 1,153 applications are available to American users and 1,085 to Russian users.
So far, most of the programs presented for download are free, and they can be installed through the online store built into the platform. A sharp increase in the number of applications in the Windows Store is predicted for the release of the OS, which will take place on October 26. According to analysts, the number of applications in it will number 3,000 items.
Recall that all applications in the Windows Store must be compatible with both desktop and tablet devices on which Windows 8 is installed.
