In 2011, free apps became the highest-grossing mobile projects in the UK. This is the conclusion that GAMESbrief experts came to.  

Analysts from the industrial blog GAMESbrief published data based on the “British” sample of Apple 101 most profitable applications. According to their data, in 2011, 59% of the most profitable applications were free. A year ago, the percentage was significantly lower – 34%.

It also turned out that 77% of the 101 highest–grossing apps are games. By the way, navigators are in second place in popularity: they have 8%.
