Kim Swift, who had a hand in the first part of Portal, Left 4 Dead and the Quantum Conundrum logic puzzle, is working on an original match3 puzzle.
The other day it became known that the studio Airtight Games, whose creative director is a former employee of Valve Kim Swift, is releasing the iOS game Pixld on October 29.
Nominally, the project is another reinterpretation of the classic Bejeweled. Only this time the player swaps not two crystals per turn (in this case, tiles), but as many as nine. Moreover, they disappear not in a bundle of “3 and more”, but in a bundle of “4 and more”.
Visually, the project also departs from the match3 classics. Instead of bright colors and positive music – stylization under Uplink from Introversion Software and harsh electronics.
The project will be released in both the iPhone and iPad versions. It will cost $0.99.
