The most popular digital distribution service for PC games has made several important changes to the system of user reviews.
The key change is the addition of an additional review column to the game profiles. Previously, Steam had only one column in which player reviews were ranked by usefulness (how useful this or that review was was decided by the users themselves). Now there are two columns. The second one shows the most recent comments.
Steam in the official message noted that it took a similar measure due to the fact that games with the release of updates may change. Popular reviews, in turn, reviews for new changes can be difficult to jump over (by typing “likes”). Such a system should solve this problem.
The second most important change is the addition of the Recent Review Score. As you can guess from the name, this is the average score of the game, formed on the latest reviews (over the last 30 days).
So, as in the case of reviews, the ratings for each game that has been in the store for more than 45 days are now also two – for the entire time and for the last 30 days.
