The spring blockbuster, which we could not pass by in any way, is, of course, the Sky Gamblers arcade flight simulator: Air Supremacy. A kind of “Il-2: Stormtrooper” for iOS is insanely beautiful (within the framework of the platform), complex and, what is also important, promoted by Apple itself.

Yes, a small remark, with regard to promotion: demonstrating the power of the recently released “new” iPad, the Cupertinos drove this particular game on the device.

And although exactly how the game looks on the novelty, we can only guess — on the iPad 2 it is amazing. However, it is not worth comparing with Infinity Blade — the detailing of the same landscapes on close acquaintance (for example, when maneuvering between skyscrapers) leaves much to be desired. But here you can make a discount on the fact that the game is far from chamber: the flight from one point to another can take a couple of minutes of real time. Again, in stock, as it used to be fashionable to say, “shader water”.

As for the game itself and the “difficult” I dropped. If someone came up with the idea to launch a game on a PC, then, with some stretch, it could be called a simulator (of the level of the console Ace Combat). However, it is not worth waiting for realistic behavior from aircraft, appropriate weapons, compliance with some technical subtleties.

On the other hand, in order to learn how to pilot tolerably, you should devote at least 15 (!) minutes to the tutorial. It will explain in detail how you can and cannot turn the iPad, what exactly these numerous icons mean on the edges of the screen, and also tell you why the game has a view from the cockpit (yes, there is such a thing here). This is not to mention the four available control schemes.

This may scare someone away from the game, as well as the fact that it is at least not easy to play for the first time. But as soon as you get used to it and stop falling into a steep dive at the first turn of the gadget by a couple of degrees, the game begins to please. Moreover, the presence of only 10 missions for almost 5 bucks does not make you sad, because there is a full-fledged multiplayer, whose charm lies in the fact that the more you play, the more you like it.
