29% of Android devices sold in Europe in the last 12 weeks have a screen diagonal equal to or greater than 4.5 inches. And on these devices, users do very different things compared to those whose displays are much smaller.

Kantar Worldpanel ComTech came to such conclusions after carefully studying the data on smartphone sales from June to August. As one of the company’s directors Dominic Sunnebo notes: “Users with a larger device use more features.” For example, Dominic cites the following statistics: only 19% of users with a screen less than or equal to 3 inches view /download videos. Among the owners of five-inch devices, there are 65% of them.

The graph also shows that those users whose screens, respectively, are larger play more.

During the monitoring, Kantar found out that Android still dominates the European market. Moreover, over the past year it has increased the share of its presence by 20.2%. Also, due to numerous sales, 5% of the market was in the hands of Windows Phone 7.
