In the mobile version of the official Android store, a new category of programs “recommended” has appeared, which forms a list of applications based on user preferences.

Also, the new category takes into account the user’s region, placing the most popular applications in this country at the top of the “recommended”; the preferences of his friends on Google+; and what applications the user is using at the moment.

If the user has already installed this application or is not interested in it, he can remove it from his own top generated by Google Play by simply clicking on the gray crossed-out circle opposite the link.

It is still unclear how popular this solution will be with users. The category in the mobile version exists for the second day (and the second month in the desktop version). But it may well replace the user’s already familiar tops of paid / free applications, thereby calling into question the usual methods of promotion.
