Opera has announced the launch of its own payment system within the Opera Mobile Store application store. The first regional partner of the system was the Yandex service.Money.”

Applications in the Opera Mobile Store from today can be purchased without using a credit card. According to Sameer Merchant, vice president of the company, this was done to make it easier for people to purchase paid applications. 

Until today, in the Opera Mobile Store, paid applications could only be purchased using credit cards and PayPal. 

The first and so far the largest partner of the new system was the domestic service “Yandex.Money.” Any digital purchase in the Opera Mobile Store, if you have a Yandex wallet, can now be made in one click. 

Payment services from other countries also announced their support for the system: InMobi SmartPay and Bango.

At the moment, about 50 thousand applications are available for download in the Opera Mobile Store (this is 20 thousand less than in the Windows Marketplace and 24 thousand more applications than in the Amazon Appstore). The number of downloads varies between 1.5 million per day.
