According to a Google study conducted in September-October of this year, almost every third Russian with a smartphone uses the mobile Internet daily; at the same time, everyone goes online at least once a week.
Among the purposes of using the mobile Internet, respondents named: the unavailability of other ways to access the network, the desire to take up free time and the need to urgently get information.
Going online, users read mail, listen to music, visit websites. At the same time, 40% of respondents use search every day, and 52% go to social networks.
At the end of the first half of 2011, there were about 40 million people in Russia. active mobile Internet users: these are owners of smartphones, cell phones and tablets.
According to analysts, the total number of active users will reach 43 million subscribers by the end of the year. About 75% of the traffic is generated by smartphone owners.
According to forecasts of J’son & Partners Consulting, the total data traffic from mobile devices in Russia will be over 25 petabytes in 2011, and in the next few years it will double every year.
