The revenue of the Chinese mobile games market by the end of this year will amount to $ 1.2 billion, representatives of Niko Partners assure in their latest research

Approximately the same forecast was made by CocoaChina six months ago. The difference in estimates is minimal. CocoaChina estimates that the games in China will raise $100 million more.

Note that according to the results of 2012, the Chinese mobile games market earned $ 750 million.

The main driver of market revenue growth in 2013 is an increase in the user base. Niko experts expect that by the end of this year, about 500 million smartphones will be activated in China. At the beginning of 2012, there were “only” 100 million of them in the country.

There are also a lot of developers in the country. According to the estimates of the company’s analysts, there are now 80 thousand studios in China engaged in the development of mobile games. In total, they produce more than 100 projects daily.

The most popular category of games in China are casual and trivia projects. Analysts believe that in the future they will give way to role-playing and strategic projects.

Niko sells the full version of the study for $4 thousand.
