The vice president of Microsoft and the head of the Windows and Windows Live division, announced his retirement from the corporation.

As of today, Stephen Sinofsky’s job responsibilities are distributed between Julie Larson-Green, responsible for new Windows-branded products and hardware, and Tami Reller, engaged in OS business development.

Steven Sinofsky has worked at the corporation since 1989, in 2009 he became the head of the Windows and Windows Live division. He was considered the most likely successor to Steve Ballmer.

Steve himself explains the changes at Microsoft – the need to achieve closer integration of its divisions. According to him, this is necessary to reduce the time for the development of new products. Time will tell whether it will be possible to solve this problem with the help of female management staff.
