Microsoft Corporation is working on a new cloud gaming service for mobile devices. This service will allow you to stream Xbox games to smartphones and tablets. This is reported by the authoritative portal The Verge.
Microsoft showed a prototype of a service that allowed the Halo 4 shooter to be broadcast on Windows Phone devices. So far, only the corporation’s employees have been able to evaluate this fantastic function, and they have shared these insider data with the press.
They claim that the game was running smoothly on all devices. The Verge writes that Microsoft has managed to reduce the delay in broadcasting on the technically outdated Nokia Lumia 520 smartphone to 45 milliseconds. According to our sources, this is not enough for shooters, but it is quite acceptable for games of other genres.
They say the service will be exclusive to Windows platforms (no support for iOS and Android).
By the way, it was proposed to control Halo 4 on Windows Phone during the demonstration using an Xbox controller that was connected to a smartphone via a special accessory. While the product is at the prototype stage, so it is difficult to say whether such a function will be available in the finished version of the service.
