Yesterday, in its official blog, Microsoft announced the cost of a new Surface – the Surface Pro, which runs on an Intel processor. The device will go on sale in January.

The tablet will be released on the market in just two versions. With 64 GB and 128 GB of internal memory. The first one will cost $899, the second $999. It is unknown whether they will come with a keyboard at such a serious price.

Both versions of the Surface Pro feature a 10.6-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The tablet is powered by a third-generation Intel Core i5 processor with integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics. There is support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but there is no support for mobile networks.

The operating time of the Surface Pro is two times less than that of its younger brother on the ARM architecture (that is, about 4-5 hours). The weight of the novelty is almost a kilogram – 903 gr.

Sales of the tablet will start in January 2013.
