Yesterday, Microsoft published official information about the cost of a Surface tablet running Windows RT.
According to pre–order prices, the most affordable version of the Surface with 32 GB will cost $ 499 (excluding sales tax), with 64 GB – $ 699.
But tablets with a Touch Cover keyboard will cost $ 100 more. The paradox is that when buying a case separately from the tablet, its cost will be even higher: Touch Cover – $120 and Type Cover – $130, respectively.
Last week, such prices were predicted by Sameer Singh, an analyst at the Indian consulting company Finvista Advisors. From the range of $399 to $499, the upper limit of the device’s cost was reliable.
After unveiling the cost of the Surface, Microsoft also revealed some technical characteristics: the tablet runs on a 4-core Nvidia Tegra ARM processor and contains 2 GB of RAM. The Surface has a screen with a diagonal of 10.6 inches and a resolution of 1366×768. The device has a microSD card slot, USB 2.0 and HDMI ports, supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
