Sales of two new products from Nokia – Lumia 920 and 820 smartphones based on Windows Phone 8 – have started in Russia today. On this occasion, Stephen Elop and Stephen Ballmer specially came to Moscow for the presentation of the devices.
Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 are now available to Russian users. Both smartphones have a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with a frequency of 1.5 GHz, an Adreno 225 graphics chip and 1 GB of RAM. The main feature of the devices is wireless charging, which we have already written about once. The gadgets support Russian LTE frequencies.
The older model has a 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels, an 8-megapixel camera, 32 GB of internal memory, a 2000 mAh battery, but no memory card slot. In the domestic market, the official price of the device is 25 thousand rubles.
The Lumia 820 is a little simpler, a little smaller, and it costs less. The diagonal of its screen is 4.3 inches, the resolution is 800×480 pixels, there is only 8 GB of internal memory inside, but there is a slot for microSD memory cards. The price of the device is about 20 thousand rubles.
The Russian presentation of the device, which was attended by the heads of Microsoft and Nokia, took place yesterday in Moscow. “Russia is a very important market for Nokia, and Russia is one of the first countries in the world where we start selling Lumia 920 and 820. We have received a record number of pre-orders for new models here,” said Stephen Elop, president and CEO of Nokia.
Recall that last week two more new products based on WP8 from HTC became available to Russian users – the flagship Windows Phone 8X and the budget Windows Phone 8S.
