San Francisco-based GameSalad has signed a contract with Amazon. As part of the cooperation, the company will offer the tools necessary for publishing indie games on Kindle Fire tablets. This is reported by the Venturebeat portal.

Earlier there were rumors that Amazon plans to introduce a game console. The new software platform should increase the range of games for this hypothetical device and existing Kindle Fire products. According to representatives of GameSalad, Amazon is trying to increase the amount of available content on devices in the Kindle Fire line.

The GameSalad platform is aimed at professionals and beginners who have just started creating video games. The proposed technology allows you to design entertainment even for those users who do not know how to program.

Representatives of GameSalad do not report whether Amazon is really working on its own game console, but the studio’s executive director, Steve Felter, believes that the largest online store has a good chance of succeeding in the electronic entertainment market.

The partnership between GameSalad and Amazon means that developers can optimize their projects for the graphical capabilities of Kindle mobile computers, as well as integrate an in-game shopping system from Amazon into their entertainment.

GameSalad technology is used by 700 thousand developers. For a limited time, the company’s customers will have the opportunity to publish projects for Kindle Fire absolutely for free. To do this, you will need to submit a draft by November 30, 2013. Otherwise, you will have to buy a license for $299.

GameSalad was launched in 2009. The company’s engine was used in 200 thousand original games that are available for Android devices.
