Experts from the App Annie company claim that in iOS 6, the algorithm for ranking applications in the tops has been greatly changed.

A couple of days ago we wrote about the analysis of the situation by Aveden. Recall that they claimed that they did not notice any change in the algorithm. Yesterday, as if in spite of them, App Annie stated the opposite in her own blog. Moreover, the company’s specialists wrote that these innovations in the algorithm “shook up the top”.

As proof, they presented three top free apps. One is dated September 19, the day before the update, the second is September 20, directly on the day of the update, and the third is September 21, the day after the update.

As you can see, the changes are on the face. But what exactly Apple could change, App Annie employees do not specify.

However, developers have already begun to argue with them, claiming that the changes were not due to the algorithm, but due to the fact that Apple began aggressively promoting its applications, as well as due to the appearance of Passbook, whose applications immediately rose in the charts after the update.
