According to unofficial data, an antivirus service designed for users will soon be integrated into Google Play.
In the latest version of the Google Play APK number 3.9.16, journalists with Android Police found mentions of a protective service. Based on the information they found, they assumed that the platform holder was going to introduce a full-fledged client antivirus service into the Android ecosystem in the future.
According to the authors with Android Police, it will perform two main functions: checking applications already downloaded by the user, and checking applications at the time of download. Also, any application can, it seems, be checked for viruses in the store itself by clicking on the “verify app?” button.
As analysts suggest, the new development is based on the VirusTotal service purchased by Google earlier.
