Analysts from Nielsen recently shared detailed information about American smartphone users.

Nielsen company told about who uses smartphones in the USA. Theoretically, this data can help developers and publishers understand who they can target when developing and publishing mobile applications. More than 20 thousand users took part in the Nielsen survey.

In total, the penetration of smartphones in the US market in January was at the level of 48% (for reference, in Russia at the end of 2011 it was 19%). In the group from 24 to 34 years of age, those who own smartphones are much more – 66%. What is especially curious, in this age group, those who bought the device in the last three months, in 8 out of 10 cases chose a smartphone.

But not only age is the determining factor of smartphone ownership. Earnings also play an important role. And when age and earnings begin to be taken into account when compiling statistics, it turns out that people aged and with a solid income are more likely to have a smartphone than those who are younger and with a slightly lower salary.
