A little more than a month has passed since the launch of the store in Europe, and Amazon is already announcing its intentions to open its own digital store in the land of the rising sun.
Specific details about Amazon’s plans regarding expansion into the territory of the Japanese mobile market are not known. It has only been announced that the launch will take place before the end of this year. The company is also confident that their movement towards the Asian market will benefit all developers working in the Android ecosystem.
“Many of our developers are very interested in localizing their apps and games for Japanese users, and we are also looking forward to new developers who want to present their Japanese content on the Amazon platform,” Jim Adkins, vice president of the Amazon Appstore, also stressed.
At the moment, an American company is running a set of applications for distribution in Japan.
