Slightly less than half of smartphone users in the UK never pay for apps, the portal MyVoucherCodes, which deals with discounts, found out.
The British mobile app market is traditionally considered one of the most delicious both in terms of revenue and downloads. The results of the MyVoucherCodes study, which covered about 2,600 smartphone users, seem all the more surprising.
According to the data published by the resource, 40% of respondents never spend money on the purchase of applications, 32% buy them “accidentally” and only 27% do it all the time.
Of those who refuse to pay for apps, 53% believe that “they are not worth it,” and 29% cannot afford it.
As for mobile buyers, 71% of them prefer to pay for social applications, 64% of respondents are always ready to lay out their “blood” for new products, and 59% said they would most likely spend money on purchasing a gaming application.
On average, those who constantly purchase apps spend £5.20 ($8.3) a month on it.
