Two weeks ago, South Korea banned Apple and Google from imposing their payment systems on mobile developers. But it seems that companies still do not follow this requirement. The Korean authorities are ready to wait until mid—October – they have given so much time to prepare a plan to comply with the new law.

This was reported by Reuters with reference to the statement of the regulator.

Also, according to the business portal, the Communication Commission of South Korea intends to issue a decree on enforcement no later than six months later. It will oblige all mobile stores to comply with the updated legislation. What measures await those who refuse to follow the instructions is not specified.

Google and Apple have not yet commented on the situation.

Recall that we are talking about the so—called “Law against Google” – a new amendment to the law on telecommunications business. It allows developers to use third-party payment systems in their applications and not pay a commission to the stores for transactions. South Korea has become the first country to adopt such a law and, according to analysts, this could become a precedent. The amendment came into force on September 15.
