Yesterday, the Japanese company posted a teaser page previewing the official announcement of the mobile version of Final Fantasy V and, presumably, Final Fantasy VI.

Even before the release of the fourth part of the series, which appeared on the App Store showcase a little less than a month ago, Square Enix promised a revolution. Judging by the new website, which looks more like a puzzle than a source of information, there are very few days left before the revolution begins – two days. On January 17, the official announcement of Final Fantasy V will take place and, as fans of the series suggested, after reviewing the site, the sixth part of the jPRP series.

Their guess is based on the fact that the silhouettes in the teaser are one-on-one sprites from the sixth part of the series. By the way, one more conclusion can be drawn from this. It is quite possible that the new parts of the series on iOS will be released in their original form. In other words, no 3D. Considering that neither the fifth nor the sixth part was remade for the Nintendo DS, this is more than likely.

However, the main question is different. Does Square Enix plan to publish the iconic Final Fantasy VII on mobile platforms, in which polygonal characters first appeared? And if so, in what form.

As for the fourth part, according to App Annie, it shows good grossing performance on the American market both on iOS in the iPhone version (187th overall) and on iPad (221st overall).
