The multiplatform Godus project, for which Molineux 22cans successfully raised £526,000 last December, will be published by the Japanese giant DeNA on iOS and Android platforms.
The UK’s most talkative and charismatic game designer has decided not to follow the beaten path of an independent mobile developer. Six months ago, he pompously presented the “revolutionary” Curiosity – what’s inside the cube, which he published by 22cans, and now he already declares that independent publishing of games on mobile platforms is “madness”.
That is why, having raised more than half a million pounds with the help of the KickStarter crowdfunding service to develop a remake of his own Populous, he turned to DeNA for help, who successfully published the Bahamut battler and its MARVEL War of Heroes clone on the western market.
Details of the transaction are currently unknown. Who will distribute the PC version is also a mystery (however, here, most likely, 22cans will resort to the help of the ubiquitous Steam).
P.S. What is inside the cube from Curiosity has not yet been revealed. There were rumors that this was part of the advertising campaign for the new Xbox.
