Publisher ZeniMax Media forced indie studio No Matter Studios to change the name of their project from Prey for the Gods to Praey for the Gods.

ZeniMax Media considered that independent developers encroach on its intellectual property — the Prey franchise. The company acquired the rights to it in 2009.

The release of the action game Prey from Zenimax-owned company Arcane Studios will take place on May 5 this year.

No Matter Studios reported that they did not want to abandon the original name of the project and could try to challenge ZeniMax’s claims in court.

But the developers decided to fulfill the requirements because they do not have the funds for legal costs. No Matter Studios consists of three people, and the studio collected funding for its project on Kickstarter.

The action adventure Praey for the Gods will be released on PC and consoles in the second half of 2017.
