Russians are actively spending on games for consoles. In the first four months of 2020, 650 thousand video games were sold in the amount of 1.35 billion rubles ($ 19 million, based on the average exchange rate of 69 rubles per dollar).
This was reported by the group of retailers “M.Video-El Dorado“. According to the company, 80% of gaming sales were for Sony PlayStation 4 products.
Important: For the first time, Nintendo Switch games came out in second place in unit sales. Previously, Microsoft‘s Xbox One projects were located here.
Retailers do not specify the exact number of copies sold by titles, but they give top-selling games. According to this information, on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the best-selling games for the period were: FIFA 20, Grand Theft Auto V and UFC 3.
As for the Nintendo Switch, Animal Crossing sold the largest circulation on it in January-April: New Horizons. The second place was for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and the third place was for the game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt“.
