The indie publishing house launched by YoYo Games has lived exactly a year. Today, the company announced that it has closed its division and will redirect resources to support developers and publishers of GameMaker Studio.

According to Pocket Gamer, Chris Trewatha, one of the heads of the YoYo publishing direction, has left the company.

The task of the publishing house was to release indie games created on GameMaker Studio engines. It shared with the developers “commercial experience, advanced knowledge about the platform and investment influence.” As Truart stated last May, YoYo wanted to create a portfolio of games with “unique ideas, design and mechanics.”

But it seems that after some time the division became a burden for YoYo: “Over the year we realized that we were not doing much good in this area, that we could not offer much more than other publishers,” said Stuart Poole, general manager of YoYo Games.

He added that the company is best at “inspiring the community and helping newcomers to master GameMaker Studio.” Now, in order to attract more developers to the customer base, YoYo will halve the cost of a mobile license. This is reported by GamesIndustry.biz .
