After three years of work on the mobile action movie War Robots, Ilya Smirnov, the producer of the project, leaves Pixonic. His next job is unknown. Smirnov himself plans to rest first.
What exactly is the reason for the departure, he does not specify in his Facebook post, only says that it was difficult for him to make a decision.
Despite the fact that Ilya is leaving the company as a producer, before that he held the position of director of game design in the company.
He came to Pixonic when War Robots was just launched. Smirnov helped the project to get back on its feet. He and his team were engaged in monetization of the project, worked on retention, engagement, meta, deepening of the key gameplay and many others.
In the comments for App2Top.ru Pixonic CEO Philip Gladkov noted that “Ilya is the person who can develop the project to impressive performance, working harmoniously together with the team. I would like to wish him success and new cool achievements with no less cool projects!”.
War Robots today is one of the most successful mobile gaming projects from Russia. According to App Annie, the game is consistently in the Top 100 highest-grossing iOS games in the United States. Pixonic earns up to $9 million a month from all platforms in the world, according to Datamagic.
