The Government of the Polish Republic has taken an unexpected measure. The state invites Belarusian IT companies and Belarusian IT specialists to move to them. Promises to create comfortable conditions and contribute to the search for offices, investors and transportation of relatives.

The Bell writes about this with reference to the official statement of the Polish side.

“It is very important to help those who are ready to develop, including Belarusian entrepreneurs. It is our moral duty to extend a helping hand to Belarusians now,” said Jadwiga Emilewicz, Deputy Prime Minister.

The initiative is called Poland. Business Harbour. It is already overseen by the Ministry of Development and the Agency for Investment and Trade of Poland with the support of the Office of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government institutions.

Within the framework of the program, companies from Belarus will receive assistance in:

  • fast business registration in Poland;
  • relocation of employees and their families to the country;
  • obtaining visas.

The Polish side also plans to link Belarusian companies with special economic zones, which are currently preparing temporary offices and living space for those moving. The government plans to link IT companies with investors and introduce them to local grants.

The program is also designed for private specialists with a technical degree and experience in IT. They are promised a quick visa processing. It is also reported that several dozen Polish companies have already prepared special vacancies for Belarusians.

Such an initiative is taking place against the background of the turbulent situation in Belarus. Recall that elections were held in the country in August. Officially, the incumbent head of state Alexander Lukashenko won them. Many people did not agree with his victory in Belarus. Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets of the cities. Such speeches were brutally suppressed by law enforcement forces.

After that, more than 2,500 representatives of the local IT sector called for an end to violence and transparent elections. They stated that in the current conditions, the work and development of IT business in the country is impossible: “In the near future we will begin to observe a massive outflow of specialists abroad, the opening of offices in neighboring countries, a slowdown in the growth of the IT sector, a decrease in investments in Belarusian IT companies, a decrease in tax revenues. There is a risk in a short time to erase all achievements in the field of high technology.”

At the moment, electoral repressions are being carried out in the country against some IT companies. One of them is PandaDoc. Part of her management has been arrested, and her accounts have also been blocked today.
