VKontakte social network named the best games of 2018

The Grand Prix from the social network was awarded to the game “Chronicles of Chaos” (Nexters Global).

Yesterday, on December 26, VKontakte told in its blog which games performed particularly well on the gaming platform in the outgoing year.

In total, ten projects were allocated. Three — within the framework of the Direct Games platform, six projects — in specific nominations. The best game project in VKontakte was also named.

The main games of this year at Direct Games were recognized:

  • “Raspberry Jam: three in a row” (TapClap) in the nomination “Best game in Direct Games”;
  • “Jumper” (the name of the studio is not specified) in the nomination “Editors’ Choice”;
  • “Pirate Treasures” (TapClap) in the nomination “Audience Award”.

Outside the framework of the HTML5 platform, the editors of the social network identified the following projects:

  • “Christmas Tree 2019” (Stark Games) in the nomination “Best integration”;
  • “Vega Mix — Winter Story” (Broccoli Games) in the nomination “Best graphics”;
  • “What, smart?” (Zebomba) in the nomination “Best competitive game”;
  • Like A King! (the name of the studio is not specified) in the nomination “Best PvP battles”;
  • “Vega Mix: three in a row” (Broccoli Games) in the nomination “Best casual game”;
  • “Dream Skyscrapers” (Overmobile) in the nomination “Best start”.

Chronicles of Chaos was recognized as the best game in VKontakte. The Russian equivalent of Heroes Charge has previously received recognition from the social network. In 2016, VKontakte named the project the best computer game.

 It is only reported that the top is formed based on user statistics and the opinion of the editorial board of VKontakte.

The gaming audience of the web version of the social network at the end of the year amounted to 55 million people. The number of mobile players has reached 14 million. The total game downloads of VKontakte in 2018 amounted to 175 million.
