Valve has announced the start of deliveries of Knuckles VR controllers to developers. These are devices with an extended set of sensors that can detect touches, the trajectory of the fingers and the force with which the player grabs virtual objects.
Knuckles DV
Knuckles is developed by the creators of SteamVR and Vive glasses.
The first prototype was unveiled in September 2018 after two years of development. The current iteration of controllers is called Knuckles DV, where “DV” means “developer version”.
Developers who want to get a Knuckles DV kit can submit their application on the Steamworks website. But, as Valve notes, its controllers are most likely not enough for everyone.
When exactly Knuckles will appear on the market, the company did not say.
