THQ Nordic reported this yesterday, May 22.
The amount of the transaction for the acquisition of Piranha was not disclosed. Together with the studio THQ Nordic received the rights to all IP studios.
After the acquisition, the studio will continue to deal with RPG titles. She is promised complete creative freedom. The current management, including CEO Michael Rüve, will remain at the head of Piranha.
There is a long-standing cooperation between the publisher and the developer, writes PC Games Insider. It was THQ Nordic, together with another of its assets — Koch Media — that released all the aforementioned Piranha games to the market.
Three strong, successful IP (Gothic, Risen, ELEX) will be a great addition to our portfolio. We are looking forward to joining the Piranha team to our family, which has received a legendary status in the RPG community.
