It looks like Ubisoft is preparing its own subscription service. This follows from a leak in the Uplay store.
A screenshot of the Ubisoft Pass Premium page was published on the ResetEra forum. It appeared briefly in Uplay, but is now hidden again.
In all likelihood, Ubisoft Pass Premium is a service similar to Xbox Games Pass and EA Access. The player buys access to a wide range of games for a monthly or annual fee. The word Premium may mean that Ubisoft is preparing several subscription plans — similar to Origin Access. The EA subscription service is divided into Basic and Premier versions. The second one has a higher subscription fee, but also more advantages.
It is not yet known which platforms, other than PC, Ubisoft Pass Premium will support. But it is already clear that only Ubisoft products will be available in the game library.
Ubisoft could come to the conclusion that in the future the implementation of games on a subscription model will be more profitable than the classic sale of games in the store, because so the publisher will be able to regularly receive money from users, regardless of whether he has a new game or not.
Perhaps Ubisoft will present its new subscription service very soon — at a press conference at E3 2019. Its opening is scheduled for June 10.
